Pocket Nutrition Coach

A looping preview of the app: a goal picked, and calorie and macro targets worked out for it; then a day of meals built to hit those targets; then one tap on a meal to log it, and the ring moves as you do; then a meal swapped for another, with the portion re-sized to match; then the full cooking method, step by step, not just an ingredient list (recipes are included with membership); then a training session logged, and a new bench press personal best of 55 kilograms; then your day's plan, ready every day of the week, with one grocery list for all of it.

A coach in your pocket for A$2 a week.

The app plans meals to your macros, builds the grocery list and tracks training. Membership: $2 a week, first 5,000 members.

Meal plan

Your whole day of meals, built to your numbers.

The app plans the day around your own calories, protein, carbs and fat. Whole-food portions are worked out in grams; recipe meals are scaled by serving, with every ingredient's weight shown when you open the recipe.
  • Whole-food portions round to 5 g or 10 g, or to whole eggs and slices.
  • A plan is only saved when it lands within 10% of your calorie and protein targets.
  • Your day's plan, ready every day of the week.
  • Free: 1 meal plan. With membership: unlimited plans.
A day's meal plan for Saturday 12 September: 2,295 of a 2,296 calorie target and 197 of 195 grams of protein, across five meals

Swaps and logging

Swap a food. The portion resizes.

Swap a food and the app resizes the new portion to match what it replaced, protein first. When you've eaten a meal, one tap logs it.
  • Free: 5 swaps. With membership: unlimited.
  • The diary takes everything else: multi-add, quick add, copy yesterday, frequent and recent foods.
  • Scan a barcode to log a packaged food.
  • Switching from another tracker? Screenshot your foods and bring them across. Three imports free.
Breakfast in the plan: tinned salmon, rolled oats, almonds and oat milk, each portioned in grams with its own Swap button, under an Ate it button for the meal

Your numbers, your coach

Bring your coach's numbers.

Type them in as they are. No coach? The calculator does it. If your coach sets your numbers, they are locked, and suggested changes wait for their approval.
  • Check in with your coach on your day: photo, weight, wellness, nutrition, training, videos, notes. They reply per section.
  • Message your coach, and comment on any session.
  • The app suggests a weekly calorie and macro change from your weigh-ins and adherence. You accept it, or your coach does.
  • No coach? Ask one from inside the app.

Check-ins, messages and coach approval need a coach on your roster.

A macro profile set to 1,668 calories, with 136 grams of protein, 178 grams of carbs and 46 grams of fat, over four meals a day

How it works

Your numbers in. Your day out.

  1. Step 1: Set your targets

Type in the calories, protein, carbs and fat your coach gave you, as they are. No coach? The calculator works them out.

  2. Step 2: Get your day

The app builds a whole day of meals to those numbers, with whole-food portions in grams. Swap anything and the portion resizes.

  3. Step 3: Shop and tick it off

Your plan becomes a grocery list, grouped by aisle, with an estimated cost. Tick each meal as you eat it, or log anything else in the diary.

Two prices. One of them is nothing.

Founding members, in their own words.

  • “Being able to use just one app for my training and nutrition is a life saver. I love how it adjusts meal macros to fit your current calorie budget too. Lowkey the point leader point system is sweet too”

    Jaeden G.

Just trying to be better than yesterday.

Questions people actually ask.

Is it free?
Yes, with no card and no trial clock. Free gives you 1 meal plan portioned to your targets, 1 macro profile, 5 food swaps, one-tap logging, the food diary, your grocery list and the training hub. Membership is A$2 a week and lifts the ceilings.
Does it work with my coach's macros?
Yes. A macro profile takes the calories, protein, carbs and fat your coach gave you, typed in as they are. The built-in calculator is there for people who don't have a coach, not a step you have to go through. Every plan, swap and portion is then built against your coach's numbers.
Can I use it eating out?
Yes, with membership. Eating Out shows the highest-protein options from 300+ Australian takeaway and fast-food items that still fit the calories you have left today, and adds one to today's plan in a tap. Free members can search takeaway items in the food diary. Nutrition figures are based on the chains' published information where available; some are our own estimates. Menus change, so treat them as planning estimates, not official chain figures.
Is it an app?
It's a web app you add to your home screen: it opens full screen, with no browser bar, and stays signed in. Here are the steps for iPhone and Android. There's also a native iPhone app on the App Store.
Android?
Yes. Everything works on Android in Chrome, and you can install it to your home screen from the browser. There is no Google Play listing yet, so the home-screen install is the Android app.
What does founding member mean?
The first 5,000 members keep A$2 a week for as long as they stay subscribed. If you cancel and come back later, you pay whatever the price is then.
Is the iPhone app the same price?
No. On the App Store the iPhone app is sold at its own prices: Basic A$14.99 a month or A$99.99 a year; Pro A$24.99 a month or A$169.00 a year. The A$2 a week membership is sold on the web only.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from Billingin the app: one tap to the payment portal on the web, or your phone's subscription settings if you joined through the App Store. You keep your account and everything you logged.
Where is my data kept?
Your data is stored in Sydney (AWS ap-southeast-2), and a coach sees only their own clients.

Your day, planned to the gram.

The app plans your meals to your macros, builds the grocery list and tracks your training, to lose fat, maintain or build muscle.
